TERMS OF SALE AND GUARANTEE
Your Dal-Rhe puppy comes with a 28 month "guarantee" against debilitating hereditary hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as a 28 month guarantee covering hereditary blinding/sight impairing eye disease. Although none of us can truly guarantee that a pup will not be afflicted with these disorders, or with any other hereditary diseases, we can guarantee that we have bred only sound dogs and have researched the pedigrees to the best of our abilities.
Your Dal-Rhe puppy is eligible for American Kennel Cub ("AKC") registration, and we will provide you with the AKC registration forms needed to register your pup. It is up to you to submit the forms to the AKC in a timely manner for the purposes of registration. Upon receipt of the puppy, s/he will be eligible for AKC Limited Registration. What this means is that s/he will be registered as purebred and be eligible to compete in AKC events (with the exception of conformation), including but not limited to obedience trials, hunt tests, agility, etc. S/he WILL NOT be eligible for breeding with limited registration.
The adopter agrees:
· To keep all vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and other veterinary necessities current.
· To provide proper nutrition, adequate exercise, and necessary grooming.
· To take good care of the dog and protect him from abuse and neglect.
· To insure that when outside and unattended, the dog is in a secure fenced yard or kennel run with adequate shelter from the elements.
· To exercise him within a fenced yard or by walking the dog on a leash, and to never allow him to run loose without adequate adult supervision. To never tie or chain this dog without being in attendance.
· To never allow the dog to be transported in the open bed of a pickup truck or similar vehicle unless secured in an approved airline crate that is firmly secured to the vehicle.
We place our puppies, first and foremost, as family companions. With that in mind, we highly recommend spaying / neutering your family pet, as we believe this makes for a better family dog all around.
If you are interested in using your dog for breeding ALL of the following conditions must be met. Note that only after ALL of these conditions are met will we provide paperwork for change in status to full (breeding) registration:
1) The dog must have reached age 24 mos. or older, AND
2) Proof of OFA Hip Clearance (goldens & cockers) and OFA Elbow Clearance (required for goldens only) [passing results] are submitted to us AND
3) Proof of CERF Eye Clearance (required for both goldens and English cockers) dated within 6 mos. of the request is submitted AND
4) Proof of OFA Cardiac Clearance (required for goldens)
5) The dog must have earned at least one AKC (American Kennel Club) or CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) title which will appear on the pedigree (I.E. CD, JH, etc.). Note that WC, therapy dog certificates, and CGC certificates are not considered titles, as they do not appear on the AKC or CKC pedigrees).
We recommend (but do not require) that you, as the new puppy owner, take the newly arrived puppy to your veterinarian within three (3) working days of receipt of the pup for a "well puppy" check-up to make sure the pup is healthy and sound at the time you receive the pup. If the pup is found to be unsound or unhealthy at the time of arrival, the pup can be returned at your expense with a written explanation from your veterinarian along with paperwork for a full refund. Any and all veterinary fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
Golden Retrievers and English Cockers strongly desire and NEED human interaction to thrive. It would be emotionally abusive to deny this puppy that much needed socialization both now and as an adult. For this reason, we only place puppies with families that intend to allow the puppy to be a true family member and an inhabitant of the family residence.
If the owner ever decides they are unable to provide a proper environment for the puppy, the breeder will be contacted and given the option of assisting with proper placement of the puppy. We may also have the option of taking the puppy into our care until a suitable home is available. We want to be responsible for the dogs we produce and never want any of them to become a part of or contribute to the unwanted pet population. The breeder has the right to reclaim the dog if it is found in a shelter/pound or abandoned while the owner is either temporarily or permanently unavailable.
Should this dog develop debilitating hip dysplasia (defined as an OFA rating of moderate to severe) and/ or debilitating elbow dysplasia (OFA grade II or III) as confirmed by an OFA x-ray taken at the age of 24-26 months, the breeder will apply the purchase price of the original puppy towards a replacement puppy when one is available. The owners are not required to return the original puppy. Please be aware that it is important how you raise your puppy. Hip dysplasia can be caused by injury, poor nutrition, obesity or abuse. We would encourage you to consider the wholesome and beneficial all natural diet along with adding the all natural probiotic and enzyme supplement (Total-Biotics and Total-Zymes) that we start the puppies on and maintain our adult dogs on. We are always available to provide you with accurate information and recommendations regarding your puppies nutritional needs.
Further, should this dog develop a known heritable eye disorder that affects his or her vision in a way that will significantly imact his or her quality of life, the breeder will apply the purchase price of the original puppy towards a replacement puppy when one is available. The owners are not required to return the original puppy. This diagnosis & prognosis must be confirmed in writing by an AVCO Board Certified Canine Opthalmologist.
In
the event that your pup / dog is diagnosed with one of the hereditary
conditions outlined above, The Dal-Rhe guarantee (of a replacement pup) will be
honored when ALL of the following conditions have been met:
· You will inform Dal-Rhe Kennels in writing requesting the Dal-Rhe Kennels Guarantee be fulfilled, and your written request will include an explanation of the diagnosis and prognosis, written and signed by the attending veterinarian along with contact information for the veterinarian.
· If surgical treatment or alteration is done prior to informing us of the diagnosis this guarantee is null and void.

· The “Dal-Rhe"prefix must appear at the beginning of the dog's name when registered with the AKC (and UKC, if applicable). There are not exceptions to this requirement. If the dog’s name does not begin with “Dal-Rhe,” this guarantee is then null and void. An example would be a registered name such as “Dal-Rhe Lady Laney.”
· Hereditary Eye Issues: All eye tests must be performed by a an AVCO Board Certified Canine Opthalmologist for guarantee to go into effect. Further, the Canine Opthalmologist must write and sign a statement confirming that the eye disorder is one that will significantly imact the dog's vision (therefore affecting his or her quality of life)
· Genetic Hip defects: Hip x-rays must be performed after the dog reaches 24 months and before the dog reaches 26 months of age and the films must be submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and subsequently rated by the OFA as being moderately to severely dysplatic. Upon review of the x-rays, should we suspect that the film quality and/or positioning have negatively affected the results, we reserve the right to ask for as second set of films to be provided, prepared by a veterinarian of our choice that is within reasonable driving distance from the owner. Cost of all diagnostic testing is the responsibility of the owner.
· Genetic Elbow defect: Elbow x-rays must be performed after the dog reaches 24 months and before the dog reaches 26 months of age and the films must be submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for review and subsequently be rated by the OFA as grade II or grade III dysplasia.
